Today, the Amazon Instant Video app for iOS was updated to officially support AirPlay. The 2.1 update for Amazon Instant Video now allows any iPad, iPhone or iPod touch user to watch video content from the Amazon Instant Video store.
The long awaited feature indicates that Apple and Amazon have reached an agreement to allow Amazon customers to watch video content from the service on Apple TV. The delay in making the feature available would not likely come from any technical reasons.
Apple has been adding new content to Apple TV at a faster pace over the last few months and seeing an Amazon app directly on Apple TV itself soon is not out of the question.
The 2.1 update includes the following new features:
- AirPlay to Apple TV
- IMDB cast and director information, ratings, goofs, trivia and quotes
- Read customer reviews
- Find other videos featuring cast or director
- Customer who watch this also watched…
