If you have an iOS device and an Apple TV you’re probably already familiar with AirPlay. It lets you stream music, videos and photos from your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch wirelessly to your Apple TV, which connects to your HDTV.
Developers have been updating their apps to include AirPlay, enabling users to stream content to Apple TVs and other AirPlay-compatible products.
Although, the selection of AirPlay-enabled apps is still somewhat limited, there are some good apps with the AirPlay feature. Here’s a few of our favorites.
Apple’s iMovie app is not only one of the best ways to create movies and videos on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, but the universal app is the best way to get those movies to your HDTV.
iMovie has AirPlay built in to the app and considering the quality of the app, $4.99 is a bargain.
VEVO HD (free)
If you enjoy watching music videos, the Vevo app is a must. Vevo has a large video library of music videos and streaming concerts in a well designed interface for your iOS device.
Vevo is AirPlay-compatible, so you can watch those music videos or concerts on the big screen with your home theater system.
TED Talks (free)

IMDb Movies & TV (free)
Find showtimes, watch trailers, browse photos, track your must-see list and rate your favorite movies and TV shows.
IMDb has the world’s largest collection of movie, TV and celebrity info. The have just about every detail about every movie and TV show ever made, including who was in it, who made it, the plot, user ratings, trailers, photos, reviews, quotes, goofs, trivia and much more. The movie trailers can can be streamed to your HDTV using AirPlay.
Discovery Channel HD (free)
The Discovery Channel app offers a great way learn more about your favorite Discovery Channel shows. The app has video clips, behind the scenes, interviews and quizzes. You can also see the schedule and set reminders of specific shows. Full length episodes are not available with the app but they can be purchased through iTunes.
All of the video content from the app can be streamed to your HDTV with AirPlay.
