Apple to launch an “all-new Apple TV” in seven new countries

Published on September 30, 2011 by

Apple TV 2Apple has recently expanded the iTunes music and movie stores to Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and more European countries are expected next week.

Now, MacRumors claims they have received word that Apple is informing resellers in seven new EU countries that the new Apple TV will be available  starting next Tuesday, October 4th, the day of Apple’s iPhone media event.

All-new Apple TV Now Available for Order in Seven New Countries

We are delighted to announce the all-new Apple TV, with an enhanced user interface and a breakthrough price point, is now available to order in Belgium, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland.

This is a sign that Apple is taking the set-top box more serious and perhaps signals bigger things to come in the near future.

This could also indicate Apple has plans to update Apple TV with the new A5 chip and bring 1080p to the device. Otherwise, the statement would have read “Apple TV Now Available for Order in Seven New Countries.” Even though Apple TV would be new to those countries, the set-top box is over a year old and will likely be updated with other iOS devices soon. It does’t seem to make sense that Apple would leave Apple TV as the only device with the A4 chip.

We should hear more about the iTunes and Apple TV next week at Apple’s iPhone event.
