Apple’s “One More Thing” May Be an SDK for Apple TV

Published on September 21, 2011 by

We know that the iPhone 5 is set to roll out within the next few weeks along side of iOS 5. Apple is expected to hold a keynote in October to unveil the new iPhone and software.

Apple has not yet refreshed their iPods, which is normally done in September. It’s very likely they will add a few improvements to the iPod Nano and release a fifth generation iPod Touch.

Although, Steve Jobs will not be delivering the keynote address, we hope to see “One More Thing.” We would love to see an Apple TV SDK released. The software development kit will allow developers to start working on apps for the set-top box and unleash the potential of Apple TV.

Several analyst are expecting Apple to start selling an actual television in 2012. If they were to release an SDK soon, that would give developers time to start working on apps before Apple introduces a new line of televisions.

Adding iOS apps on Apple TV seems to be a question of when and the upcoming iPhone 5 event seems to be an ideal time.
