Coming several days after the release of iOS 6, Apple has finally got around to updating Apple TV to iOS 5.1. This latest version adds shared photo streams, the ability to send audio to AirPlay enabled speakers from an Apple TV, reorder icons on the main screen, new screen savers and more.

Shared Photo Streams
Accept invitations for Shared Photo Streams, browse photos and comments, and receive notifications of new content.AirPlay

Note: If you have a jailbroken Apple TV 2, you should wait until there is a compatible jailbreak before you update. If you are wanting to jailbreak a 2nd or 3rd generation Apple TV in the future, you should save your SHSH blobs using TinyUmbrella or hold off on updating altogether.
